The project “STOP DEFORESTATION! OUR GOAL!” seeks to increase the amount of land in our community (Haiti) that is wooded. Most of the natural disasters that affect since decades Haiti are the results of an exaggerate cut of trees. Particularly in rain period most cities are subject to floods, families houses are destroyed because of landslides from the mountains. Annually these natural disasters kill more than hundreds of people in and around the cities.
“STOP DEFORESTATION! OUR GOAL!” will achieve its goals and objective by implementing a set of activities that will first contribute to raise the awareness of the population about the damages of deforestation, second will sensitize and encourage the youth to act and to participate in different ways to stop deforestation, find solutions to that problem and contribute to the reforestation. And finally the project seeks to plant together with the youth 670 seedlings in the community.
